Welcome to Our Parish

Kildysart Parish is a welcoming community situated beside the Shannon Estuary in West Clare.

At the centre of our parish is St Michael’s Church, which has served generations of local families as a place of worship, reflection and celebration.

We are part of Radharc na nOileán Pastoral Area, sharing in the wider life of the Church alongside our neighbouring parishes.

Our Parish Heritage

Faith has played an important role in the history and identity of Kildysart for generations.

St Michael’s Church stands as a familiar landmark in the village and a place where the community gathers to celebrate the sacraments and mark important moments in family life.

The church is home to a beautiful marble altar with a history stretching back to 1914. Originally installed in the Presentation Convent in Tuam, the altar was acquired for Kildysart in 1991 and erected in the church in 1992.

This connection with the wider history of the Irish Church is one of the distinctive features of St Michael’s.

Today, our parish continues its traditions of worship, prayer and community involvement, welcoming all who wish to participate in parish life.

As part of Radharc na nOileán, we look forward to strengthening our connections with neighbouring parishes while continuing to cherish our own community and traditions.
